Lending a Helping Hand

“On a typical day 100-150 women come through our doors and have access to a nutritious lunch and a wide array of supports and services. We are fortunate to have terrific community partners who will come onsite to work with women where they are and where they feel safe and supported.  More than 70 % of our operating costs come to us in the form of donations.  We are so appreciative of donors like you who help to make the work we do possible – and for caring about the women who are so often forgotten. “

I am running a ‘drive’ starting tomorrow October 2/15 and running through until October 30/15 to try and assist My Sister’s Place out with some of their needs.  Winter is quickly approaching and they are in need of basic daily items through to socks as the cold weather approaches.  There is a list below of their needs and I would like to drop off the items off after a two week time frame and then again after another two weeks.  Please feel free to drop any items you would like to donate at my office.

Items needed:

Shampoo (regular size & hotel size)

Conditioner (regular size & hotel size)

Liquid body wash

Deodorant

Hair brushes / hair elastics

Socks (now that cooler weather is upon us)

Underwear  – size  small and medium

Travel size shave gel

In conjunction with Nina and My Sister’s Place, the Wellness Committee will be giving a stamp to each member who makes a donation to this great cause. Wellness is a state of being in good overall health, whether that be physically, mentally, or socially which allows the individual to thrive.

Please consider lending a helping hand.
